Generally Speaking

Generalists have the advantage of being expert in well... just about everything. The upside is never having to tell a client no. They can handle just about anything that gets thrown at them. The downsides include always having to be ready for that curve ball, having to become an instant expert on lots of things, and a having a tougher time establishing credibility and marketing themselves than specialists have. Contrary to popular belief, generalists don't have to know a little about a lot. They need to know a lot about a lot.
