Finding that Special Investor

It's incredibly important to identify the kind of investor you're looking for. Once you've found a potential investor, research what this person has done. Do an Internet search (AltaVista, WhoWhere.com) of her career, her investments, her personal life. The more information you know about her, the more effective your pitch will be. For example, if you and your angel have conflicting ideologies or investment strategies, it's probably best not to meet at all. On the other hand, angels like to give money to folks who remind them of their own younger start-up selves.
